HUMMEL 187

Back           Next

Howdy Happy Campers... Hope that you all are enjoying the lovely hummels displayed here for your viewing pleasure. Just in case you're not familiar with the acronym, AAFES stands for Army Air Force Exchange Services. This is the 100 years of service that AAFES has provided for the the millions of servicemen and women. The best thing that I can tell you about shopping in AAFES is that it is TAX FREE and after awhile..... you can see quite a bit of savings from that.

These were originally modeled by master sculptor Reinhold Unger in 1947 and later restyled by Gerhard Shrobek in 1962. These plaques come in a variety of styles such as the "Moon Style", or it can have quotation marks, or all black lettering, dotted "i"s and if you're lucky you might find a rare factory sample.

This nice that we won from an AAFES drawing was signed by master painter Isabella Then. Trademark 7, stands 5 1/2" x 4" and is worth now somewhere around $125.
