Be Patient

Hummel 197/I

This cute little girl is rightfully named, "Be Patient". As she is seen here feeding her little playmates who are sooooo....impatient to eat. She stands a good 6 1/4" and is a trademark 5.

When she was first modeled in 1948 by master sculptor Reinhold Unger this figurine was produced in one size only with the incised number 197. A smaller size was issued in the mid-1950's with the incised number 197 2/0. At the same time, the large size changed to 197/I. Both the sizes have been restyled with the new textured finish and usually have an incised 1948 copyright date. Old name: "Mother of Ducks."

She stands here before you, signed by Master Painter Christina Goihl.
