This sheperd boy was originally named "Young Sheperd" according to records, but was later changed to "Sheperd Boy." This figurine was modeled by master sculptor Gerhard Skrobek in 1971, with an incised 1972 copyright date.

There is an earlier model that has the trademark 5 on it and stands 6 3/4". You can tell because the earlier sample has a fence on it and is worth #3000-$4000. The one we have stands 4 7/8" and is a trademark 7. Worth around $295. Big difference isn't it?
